Class IV Laser Therapy
I attained a B.SC. in Equine Studies at the Royal Agricultural University, and went on to get
my Physiotherapy
qualification at Harper Adams University. I have worked with horses and small animals for many years and
came
to understand the advantages of combining laser treatment with physiotherapy early in my career.
K-LASER therapy does not treat conditions,
it stimulates the body’s inherent healing mechanisms via a process called
photobiomodulation.
Through a combination of different wavelengths, power and frequency of laser light
K-LASER is able
to achieve improved healing times, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling.

Laser Treatment
Laser Therapy has been utilised in human and animal medicine
for many decades,
however recent technical advances in laser miniaturisation has allowed laser
therapy to be used for a wider range of patients.
I am K-Laser trained and work with Northern Laser Therapy whose 2 Registered Veterinary
Nurses provide laser treatments for small animals who don't need physiotherapy.
Class IV therapeutic lasers offer multiple benefits in the treatment of muscle,
tendon and ligament injuries, skin wounds, oedema, arthritis, neurological conditions,
acute and chronic pain.

Treatment and Benefits
The benefits of laser therapy are the consequence of the energy being
absorbed by cell components, which causes a number of biological effects. These include increased cell
metabolism and
formation of new capillaries, lymphatic peristalsis acceleration, the reduction of
oedema and the enhanced
healing properties of tissues.
